The Forgotten Ones
Synopsis.

“The Forgotten Ones” is a documentary project directed by Mohammed Sheikh, inspired by the pressing need to shed light on the devastating impact of the Opioid crisis in the twin cities during the pandemic. The vision for this project emerged from a desire to amplify the voices of those affected by addiction and to showcase stories of resilience and hope amidst adversity.

One notable aspect of the process was the emphasis on personal narratives, particularly through the lens of Abdirahman, whose journey from addiction to advocacy serves as a central narrative thread. Through intimate interviews and raw storytelling, the project aimed to humanize the issue of substance abuse and challenge stigmas surrounding addiction.
